PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible tube for medical endoscope which is excellent in durability, where the damage and degradation of an envelope are suppressed even when autoclave sterilization processing and hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilization processing are applied thereto and a required light shielding property is maintained, and to provide a method for manufacturing the flexible tube.
SOLUTION: The flexible tube for endoscope includes: a metallic core material which has a spiral tube 32 molded by spirally winding a strip member and a net-like tube 34 molded annularly by braiding thin wires on the outer periphery of the spiral tube a light shielding layer 36 which is formed on the surface of the metallic core material and has the thickness of 1-100 &mum and an envelope layer 38 which is formed on the outer periphery of the light shielding layer, contains a polymerization system elastomer and is thicker than the light shielding layer.
