The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating kidney diseases, which comprises morin as an active ingredient. In addition, the present invention relates to a food composition and a feed composition for preventing or alleviating kidney diseases comprising morin as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the morin or a morin hydrate recovers the survival rate, weight, kidney weight, and water consumption of a CKD animal model, significantly improve serum biochemical parameters of a CKD mouse, and recovers histopathologic changes to kidney morphology and sections. In addition, the morin or the morin hydrate of the present invention recovers the expression of proinflammatory and fibrosis related markers to normal. Therefore, the morin or the morin hydrate according to the present invention is expected to be used as a natural product medicine which is effective in treating or preventing chronical kidney diseases.본 발명은 모린을 유효성분으로 포함하는 신장질환 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것이다. 또한, 본 발명은 모린을 유효성분으로 포함하는 신장질환 예방 또는 개선용 식품 조성물 및 사료 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 모린 또는 모린 수화물은 CKD 동물모델의 생존율, 체중, 신장 중량 및 물소비를 회복시키고, CKD 마우스의 혈청 생화학적 파라미터를 유의적으로 개선하며, 신장의 형태 및 절편에 대한 병리조직학적 변화를 회복시킨다. 또한, 본 발명의 모린 또는 모린 수화물은 전염증성 및 섬유화 관련 마커의 발현을 정상으로 회복시킨다. 이에, 본 발명에 따른 모린 또는 모린 수화물은 만성신장질환 치료 또는 예방에 효과적인 천연물 치료제로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
