PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device suitable for downsizing while maintaining sufficient mobility necessary for a movable lens.SOLUTION: An imaging device 100 includes: a lens barrel portion 15 and an imaging unit 11 that picks up an observation image. Lens holding members 33 and 35 hold movable lenses L3 and L4 and include projections 41 and 43 projecting toward outside in a radial direction of the movable lenses. A cam barrel 49 includes, on a cylindrical peripheral surface, cam grooves 45 and 47 that engage with the projections of the lens holding members. A lens driving unit 13 is disposed out of a lens optical axis O and rotationally drives the cam barrel. The cam barrel includes a cylindrical gear unit 59 formed along a circumferential direction of the cam barrel in an outer surface tip area forward in an observation direction of the observation image.
