Electrocardiography can be performed using a reduced number of electrodes compared to the number of electrodes conventionally used, when the electrodes are placed on an electrocardiography electrode device or patch adapted for attaching to the skin of a patient, and adapted for positioning in the axilla of said patient, said device comprising an adhesive patch and electrodes positioned on said adhesive patch, and an interface for transmitting electrocardiography signals from said electrodes to a device for storing and/or recording an electrocardiogram.
