PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for making ash which contains an oxide of radioactive cesium effectively available for a cement raw material or the like by efficiently removing the radioactive cesium from the ash.SOLUTION: A device comprises a reduction volatilization furnace that: includes an inlet port of ash containing an oxide of radioactive cesium, a discharge port of furnace gas, an outlet port of ash, and an inlet port of a chlorine source; and reduces the ash containing an oxide of radioactive cesium under a reductive gas atmosphere by the use of a chlorine component being present in the ash or an added chlorine source and volatilizes the radioactive cesium as cesium chloride.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
