ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a novel Quercetin-Gadolinium (III) (QGd) complex as an efficient positive magnetic contrast agent characterized by X-ray Powder Diffraction peak at 25.66°±0.2° 2 and having metal: ligand: water ratio of 1:1:2. The present invention further relates to process of preparation of the said Quercetin-Gadolinium (III) (QGd) Complex. The present invention furthermore relates to the Quercetin-Gadolinium (III) (QGd) Complex that can be used as a novel Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) contrast agent for pre-clinical and clinical applications.
