To provide a device and a method which are capable of easy non-invasive measurement of lipids without the skill of the measurer. A lipid measurement device comprising: an irradiation unit that emits light of a predetermined light intensity from the outside of a living subject toward the inside of the living subject to irradiate a predetermined section of the living subject with the light； a light intensity detection unit that detects a light reaching range within the living subject on the basis of the intensity of light emitted from the living subject； and a control unit that calculates a predetermined light reaching range parameter on the basis of the light reaching range and calculates a lipid concentration in the living subject on the basis of the light reaching range parameter.本發明所要解決的問題在於提供一種在測量者不熟練的情況下也可以容易地進行非侵入式脂質測量的裝置及方法。 為了解決此問題，本發明的脂質測量裝置，具有：照射部，其自生物體外朝向生物體內，以特定的光強度將光照射在生物體的特定部位；光強度檢測部，其基於自生物體放出的光強度來檢測生物體內的光到達範圍；及，控制部，其基於光到達範圍來算出特定的光到達範圍參數，並基於光到達範圍參數來算出生物體內的脂質濃度。
