PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biocompatible member excellent in hydrophilic properties and water resistance, wherein adhesion between a film and various kinds of base materials constituting the biocompatible member is excellent, and high biocompatibility is imparted onto the film surface and to provide a method for forming the same.SOLUTION: This biocompatible member includes: the base material and the film provided on the base material and including the following (1) and (2). The film is a composition gradient film, wherein the composition of (1) and (2) continuously changes such that the ratio of (1) becomes larger but the ratio of (2) becomes smaller from a side closest to the base material to a side most distant from the base material in the thickness direction of the film.
