A hemostatic material containing cationized cellulose and a wound dressing containing the hemostatic are provided. At least one of hydroxyl groups of the cationized cellulose is modified with-R2-N+(R3)(R4)(R5)·X-, other hydroxyl groups of the cationized cellulose have -H, or -(CH2CH2O)m-H, R2 represents C1-6 alkylene, C2-6 hydroxyalkylene, -(CH2CH2O)l-, or a combination thereof, 1 represents 1 or 2, m represents 1 or 2, and X- may represent an anionic group.
