<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an electric wheelchair equipped with a driving caster, which is capable of enhancing responsiveness in changing the moving direction of the electric wheelchair. <；P>；SOLUTION: The electric wheelchair controlled by the control device 10 includes the driving caster 3, driving direction detecting means 103 detecting the driving direction of the driving caster 3 and moving direction indicating means 8 indicating a target moving direction. The control device 10 includes output means 22 supplying a control current to an electric motor 70, and caster operation instructing means 16 setting an angle obtained by adding/subtracting 180°； to/from a difference angle, as a rotation angle when the difference angle which is a difference between the driving direction and the target moving direction is 90°； or more, and instructing the output means 22 to rotate a wheel direction by the rotation angle and instructing the output means 22 to reverse the rotational driving direction of wheels (91, 92) to the direction before the target moving direction is instructed. <；P>；COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
