A glossoplasty implant tension relief system for treating an airway of a patient has a first portion configured to engage a mandible of the subject. The system also has a second portion configured to engage a tongue of the subject to retain at least a portion of the tongue. The system includes a connecting portion configured to connect the first portion and the second portion. The connecting portion is constructed and arranged to provide tension between the first portion and the second portion. The connecting portion includes an i) inelastic portion and ii) an elastic portion configured to provide elasticity between the first portion and the second portion.La présente invention concerne un système permettant de soulager la tension sexerçant sur un implant utilisé en cas de glossoplastie à des fins de traitement des voies aériennes dun patient. Ledit système comporte une première partie conçue pour venir en contact avec la mandibule du sujet, une seconde partie conçue pour venir en contact avec la langue du sujet et en retenir au moins une partie. Le système comprend une partie de raccordement reliant ladite première partie et ladite seconde partie. La partie de raccordement est conçue et disposée de façon à ce quune tension sexerce entre la première partie et la seconde partie. La partie de raccordement comprend i) une partie non élastique et ii) une partie élastique conçue pour instaurer une certaine élasticité entre la première partie et la seconde partie.
