PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus and a program which are capable of notifying a user of information to assist the user in the determination on a subject based on visual inspection of the subject.
SOLUTION: A reference point assigning unit 18b sets two reference points in an image based on image data. A reference point computing unit 18c sets a reference line dividing a characteristic region in the image into two sections based on the two reference points. A coordinate computing unit 18d sets an extraction point for extracting characteristics of the image on the reference line. A profile computing unit 18e computes space coordinates of the reference points or extraction point, and executes measurement on the subject. A profile computing unit 18f generates characteristic information representing characteristics of the image at the extraction point based on the information of the image at the extraction point.
