PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fundus camera which enables highly reliable photographing by suppressing the occurrence of photographing defects more when an optical path branching member is evacuated.
SOLUTION: The fundus camera includes: an illumination optical system for illuminating an ocular fundus of a subjects eye a fundus photographing optical system which has an image pickup device and photographs the ocular fundus of a subject via a diaphragm disposed in an optically conjugated position with a pupil of the subjects eye with respect to an objective lens the optical path branching member disposed on an optical path between the objective lens and the diaphragm in an insertable and removable manner an anterior eye part observation optical system for observing an anterior eye part of the subjects eye via the optical path branching member and further an inserting and removing means which evacuates the optical path branching member from the fundus photographing optical system by rotating the optical path branching member in a direction to be away from an optical path of the anterior eye part observation optical system in photographing the ocular fundus by the image pickup device.
