The invention relates to a mechanical/electric installation for automatic watering of pot and other plants during lengthy absence of the owner. It consists in its mechanical part of a gear pump driven by an electric motor, a metal suction filter mounted at one hose end and a number of watering nozzles which - maximum 10 - are connected together at the pressure outlet of the pump. For the purpose of an individually dosed water quantity, these watering nozzles are provided with 1, 2 or 3 outlet openings. The electronic part of the installation described consists, in a common housing, of two timers which are continuously adjustable by rotary knobs and potentiometers and which make possible the adjustment of watering times of between 3 and 30 seconds as well as interval times of between 5 and 48 hours. The watering water is, in an installation according to the present invention, extracted from a sufficiently large storage vessel, while a correspondingly dimensioned battery is provided for the operation of the pump drive as well as the control electronics. The installation can thus be operated independently of the power and water network.
