A refill station for refilling the infusible liquid reservoir for an infusion pump comprises a vial (240) containing a supply of the infusible liquid a transfer guard (260) having a first adapter (262) adapted to mate with the vial (240), a second adapter (270) for connection to the reservoir and a first needle (152) extended from the vial (240) through the transfer guard (260) to project from the second adapter (262) and a tubular handle (220). The tubular handle (220) has a transverse engagement finger (227) displaceable 1490 radially within the handle (220). A manually operable slide (225) is provided on said tubular handle to move and hold the engagement finger (227) in a radially inwardly displaced position.
