After removing the components of the infected endoprosthesis and saving the bone structure resection, the femoral and shin bone marrow canals are opened and rimmed. Then, in the intramedullary canals of the femoral and tibia bones, an antibacterial implant is prepared, which is manufactured intraoperatively from polymethylmethacrylate, at least 200 mm long and with a diameter corresponding to the diameter of the intramedullary canals, reinforced with a rod or a bundle of spokes and containing a therapeutic dose of the antibiotic.
