PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the level of voice outputted from the speaker of a handset type slave machine to make the correct level of voice in accordance with the state of the nurse call slave machine without giving uncomfortable feel to the patient.SOLUTION: In a case where it is determined that the room is dark, whether or not the nurse call slave machine is suspended on a hook 20 is determined based on the inclination angle detected by an inclination sensor 4, and the direction of the nurse call slave machine 1 is determined based on the inclination angle detected by the inclination sensor 4. The level of voice outputted from the speaker 7 is set higher when the nurse call slave machine 1 is suspended on the hook 20 than when not.
