The present invention relates to novel uses of Glehnia littoralis extract which controls prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and, more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition and health supplement for preventing or treating diseases related to PGE2 activities including Glehnia littoralis extracts or solvent fragments of the Glehnia littoralis extracts as active ingredient. The Glehnia littoralis extracts of the present invention promotes the increase of PGE2 intracell and extracell through suppression of 15-PGDH enzyme activities involved with the decomposition of PGE2, and effectively controls the activities of PGE2 by reducing expression of the same.
