PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain inner space in pockets while suppressing reduction of the capacity of the pockets in an absorbent article having the pockets for storing excrement.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes: a back sheet member 23 an absorbent sheet member 20 whose outer edge is joined to the back sheet member 23 and a pair of spacer members 241 disposed in the vicinity of an opening 25 of the absorbent sheet member 20 between the back sheet member 23 and the absorbent sheet member 20. As the absorbent sheet member 20 is supported by the spacer members 241, the inner space of a front pocket 26, a side pocket 28, and a rear pocket 27 can be retained in the absorbent article 1. As the spacer members 241 are spirally formed, the excrement such as soft feces can pass through the spacer members 241. As a result, hindrance by the spacer members 241 in storing the excrement in the pockets is prevented, and reduction of the capacity for storing the excrement in the pockets can be suppressed.
