A system for providing blood pressure information comprises: a blood pressure gauge to periodically or intermittently measure a blood pressure from a subject for 24 hours to provide base blood pressure data; and a device for generating blood pressure data for each section connected to the blood pressure gauge via a wired or a wireless communication network to generate blood pressure data for each sleeping section and active section based on the base blood pressure data provided from the blood pressure gauge. The device for generating blood pressure data for each section comprises: a blood pressure data aligning unit to align the base blood pressure data by time to generate aligned 24-hour blood pressure data; an average blood pressure calculation unit to calculate a 24-hour average blood pressure based on the aligned 24-hour blood pressure data from the blood pressure data aligning unit; a slope calculation unit to calculate a slope for each time zone defining a difference between blood pressure data of adjacent front and rear ranks in the aligned 24-hour blood pressure data as a slope; a switching point determination instrument to generate at least one sleeping-active switching point and at least one active-sleeping switching point based on the slope for each time zone; and a section data generation unit to generate sleeping section blood pressure data and active section blood pressure data based on the generated switching points. Accordingly, a switching point of a sleeping section and an active section of a subject can be accurately distinguished.
