Transponder for marking materials by wedging the transponder into material marked, containing stiff or semi-stiff casing with electromagnetic sensor inside and two wedge shaped acute-angle edges, which are crossing on transponder sides forming two obtuse angle edges. The transponder has two crossing symmetry surfaces where one of the surfaces is perpendicular with the material marked. The obtuse angle edges of the transponder side surfaces are rounded and the surfaces could be fitted with additional protruding fixation elements. For wedging the transponder into material the socket with acute angle groove is used where the vertex of the groove is equal or less than the vertex of the wedge shaped acute angle edge. Transponder is fixed in the socked and the force is applied to the socket by the applicator forcing the transponder with the socket into the material marked.
