Drugs and diagnostic techniques designed based on the human Dkk-3 gene and its expression products are useful for the diagnosis and treatment of human muscle atrophy. The present invention discloses Dkk-3 protein, which is a protein molecular marker related to muscle atrophy, and its use in the diagnosis of muscle atrophy disease, and provides a method for screening a drug for treating muscle atrophy. Compared to normal muscle cells, Dkk-3 protein is clearly highly expressed in muscle atrophy cells, and thus is useful as an effective marker for detecting muscle atrophy. The sensitivity and accuracy of detection of the method according to the present invention are remarkably superior to those of conventional diagnostic methods, and not only fill the blind spot of muscle atrophy detection by molecular diagnostic methods but also are convenient to operate.ヒトＤｋｋ－３遺伝子およびその発現産物に基づいて設計される薬物と診断技術は、ヒトの筋萎縮の診断と治療に有用である。本発明は、筋萎縮に関連するタンパク質分子マーカーであるＤｋｋ－３タンパク質、及び筋萎縮疾患の診断におけるその使用を開示し、筋萎縮を治療する薬物をスクリーニングする方法を提供する。正常筋細胞に比べて、筋萎縮細胞におけるＤｋｋ－３タンパク質は明らかに高発現されているので、筋萎縮を検出するための有効なマーカーとして有用である。本発明にかかる方法は、検出の感度、正確性がいずれも従来の診断方法より顕著に優れ、分子診断法による筋萎縮検出の盲点を埋めるだけでなく、操作も便利である。
