A patient interface system (3000) to treat sleep disordered breathing of a patient with pressurized gas, comprising a patient interface (3301)； a strap (3308)； a retractor (3304) fixedly attached to the patient interface, the retractor connected to the strap and configured to retract both ends of the strap without patient actuation； a patient interface channel (3324) fixedly attached to the patient interface； and a cushion (3310) structured to at least partially conform to the patient’s head, the cushion having a pair of cushion channels (3322). The strap passes freely through each of the cushion channels and the patient interface channel such that upper portions of the strap pass above the patient’s ears and below the patient’s eyes when donned by the patient and lower portions of the strap pass below the patient’s ears when donned by the patient.
