Neorickettsia helminthoeca is an obligate intra-cytoplasmic bacterium that causes salmon poisoning disease (SPD), an acute, febrile, fatal disease of dogs. Disclosed are compositions and methods for the immunodetection of N. helminthoeca in a canine subject.
