PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incubator including a luminaire for a newborn including a light capable of individual and efficient illumination and enabling a treating person to perform treatment without blocking illumination force and a visual field required for proper performance when treatment is performed for a newborn.SOLUTION: An incubator includes a hood 3 attached to an upper part of a body and capable of being opened/closed and a recumbent bed 9 including a mattress. A light source 14 is disposed at a required position corresponding to a lower edge position of the hood. A light guide body 12 guiding light from the light source to an upper face of the hood is disposed along a side face of the hood. A reflection plate 13 reflecting or diffusing light guided to an upper edge of the light guide body to be emitted to a storage chamber in the hood is provided. Due to a small or compact size of the illumination device, the light source can be disposed in the body, the light guide body can be disposed along the side face of the hood, and the reflection plate can be disposed on an upper face (ceiling face) of the hood. Thus, the whole device is not bulky, it is not necessary to consider heat radiation performance of an incubation chamber, and visibility is improved without blocking a visual field of a treating person with respect to a newborn.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3【課題】各個別に効率良く照明できるライトを備え且つ新生児の施術を行う時に、適正に対処するための照明力と視界を遮ることなく施術が行えるようにする。【解決手段】本体の上部に開閉できるフード３が取り付けられると共に、マットレスを備えた臥床台９を有する保育器であって、フードの下端位置に相当する所要部位に光源１４を設け、該光源からの光をフードの上面まで導光する導光体１２をフードの側面に沿って設け、該導光体の上端部に導光された光が反射または拡散してフード内の収容室内に照射される反射板１３を設けた構造とし、照明装置を小型化乃至コンパクト化したことによって、光源を本体部に設け、フードの側面に沿って導光体を配設することができると共に、反射板をフードの上面（天井面）に設置できるので、全体が嵩張らず且つ保育室の放熱機能まで考慮する必要がなく、新生児に対する術者の視界を遮ることなく、視認性を向上させる。【選択図】図３
