A system and method for realizing tissue regeneration without using a scaffold. The system includes a container holding a fluid suitable for enhancing the tissue regeneration process. An acoustic transducer is provided at one end of the container and a reflector is provided at the other end of the container. The transducer provides an acoustic signal that creates a standing acoustic field within the container that confines human cells within the fluid within the plurality of cell sheets.
