The present invention relates to mannitol granules that are of use for the preparation of tablets by direct compression which do not require a small amount of lubricant in order to be processed. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing such granules. The present invention also encompasses pulverulent compositions comprising these granules and also direct compression processes using these pulverulent compositions. Finally the present invention relates to tablets composed of these pulverulent compositions.
