Briefly described, virus-like particles, methods of preparing virus-likeparticles, immunogenic compositions that include virus-like particles, andmethods of liciting an immune response using immunogenic compositions thatinclude virus-like particles are described herein. A virus-like particle (VLP)can include a viral core protein that can self assemble into the VLP core andat least one viral surface envelope glycoprotein expressed on the surface ofthe VLP. The viral protein and the viral surface envelope glycoprotein arefrom different viruses. Another VLP can include a viral core protein that canself assemble into a VLP core at least one viral surface envelopeglycoprotein expressed on the surface of the VLP and at least one adjuvantmolecule expressed on the surface of the VLP.
