A method of identifying a compound capable of reducing or increasing the amount of receptor for RAGE-Clq Binding comprising a) providing an amount of the compound to be tested b) contacting the amount of the compound with Clq and RAGE c) measuring the amount of RAGE-Clq binding in step b) d) comparing the amount of RAGE-Clq binding measured in step c) with the amount of RAGE-Clq binding measured under corresponding conditions in the absence of the compound d) identifying the compound as capable of reducing or increasing the amount of RAGE-Clq binding. The present invention also provides a method of treating a subject suffering from a RAGE-related disorder comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound that is a modulator of the amount of RAGE-Clq binding so as to thereby treat the subject.Cette invention concerne un procédé didentification dun composé capable de réduire ou daugmenter la quantité de récepteur pour la liaison RAGE-Clq comprenant a) lutilisation dune quantité du composé à tester b) la mise en contact de la quantité du composé avec Clq et RAGE c) la mesure de la quantité de liaison RAGE-Clq de létape b) d) la comparaison de la quantité de liaison RAGE-Clq mesurée à létape c) avec la quantité de liaison RAGE-Clq mesurée dans des conditions correspondantes en labsence du composé d) lidentification du composé comme étant capable de réduire ou daugmenter la quantité de liaison RAGE-Clq. Cette invention concerne également une méthode destinée à traiter un sujet souffrant dun trouble lié à RAGE comprenant ladministration au sujet dune quantité thérapeutiquement efficace dun composé qui est un modulateur de la quantité de liaison RAGE-Clq de manière à traiter ainsi le sujet.
