The disclosure provides a method for evaluating whether an individual with cancer is suitable for applying anti-cancer drugs. Wherein the anti-cancer drug is a CDK inhibitor. The method includes: (1) Detection of copy number of the first gene and the second gene from in vitro sample of an individual with cancer. Based on the copy number variations (CNV) of the first gene and the second gene, respectively, a ratio between the CNV of the first gene and the second gene is obtained [CNV ratio=CNV 1st gene/CNV 2nd gene]. Wherein the first gene encodes “cyclin” and the second gene encodes “cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor” (CDKN). (2) Evaluation of the CNV ratio of the two genes mentioned above to determine whether an individual with cancer is suitable for applying CDK inhibitor.本發明揭露一種評估罹癌個體是否適用抗癌藥物的方法，其中抗癌藥物為週期蛋白依賴型激酶抑制劑(CDK inhibitor)，方法包括：(1)以活體外檢測罹癌個體的活體外樣本的第一基因的拷貝數及第二基因的拷貝數，藉此分別得出第一基因拷貝數變異值(CNV)與第二基因拷貝數變異值，由第一基因拷貝數變異值及第二基因拷貝數變異值得出拷貝變異數比值(CNV比值=CNV第一基因/CNV第二基因)。其中第一基因可轉譯出「細胞週期素」(cyclin)，且第二基因可轉譯出「週期蛋白依賴型激酶抑制蛋白」(cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor，CDKN)。以及(2)由拷貝變異數比值評估罹癌個體是否適用CDK抑制劑。
