PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation exerting excellent antiseptic and antibacterial activity in a skin care preparation such as an emulsified formulation and a solubilized formulation and little in cutaneous irritation and a method of giving antiseptic and antibacterial property to the skin care preparation.SOLUTION: This skin care preparation, which is compounded with (A) not less than 0.2 mass% of n-hexyl 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionate and more than twice of (A) in mass ratio of (B) a polyhydric alcohol having a specific carbon number and one or more selected from the group consisting of an alkyl glyceryl ether and a fatty acid glyceryl ester, has a remarkable antiseptic and antibacterial effect, and a skin care preparation high in safety and little in cutaneous irritation can be obtained by compounding the two components.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】乳化製剤及び可溶化製剤等の皮膚外用剤において優れた防腐抗菌力を発揮し、しかも皮膚刺激の少ない皮膚外用剤並びに皮膚外用剤用の防腐抗菌方法を提供することを課題とした。【解決手段】(A)2,2-ビス(ヒドロキシメチル)プロピオン酸n-ヘキシルを0.2質量%以上と、(B)特定炭素数の多価アルコール、アルキルグリセリルエーテルおよび脂肪酸グリセリルエステルからなる群から選択される1種又は2種以上を質量比で(A)の2倍以上とを配合した皮膚外用剤は顕著な防腐抗菌効果を有すること、そして、両成分を配合することにより、安全性が高く、しかも皮膚刺激性が少ない皮膚外用剤が得られることを見出し本発明を完成した。【選択図】なし
