PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability with respect to a scanning surface in an ultrasonograph.SOLUTION: A scanning surface is formed by repeating wave transmission/reception of ultrasonic beams. A track ball 28 includes a ball body. When the ball body is rotated, an amount of rotation about three axes is detected. The scanning surface is rotated in response to the rotation of the track ball 28 about a vertical axis. In response to a rotation angle of the scanning surface, an amount of rotation about the other two axes of the track ball is converted into a tilt amount and an inclination amount.
