The combination of gabapentin with lysine clonixinate (CLG) makes it possibleto relieveneuropathic pain caused both by diabetic neuropathy and by an injury to thenerve. The CLGcombination produces a synergy in the antiallodynic effect, when the allodyniahas beengenerated by direct mechanical damage to nervous tissue or when it has beenproduced as aresult of a diabetic pathology. The therapeutic effect of the CLG combinationis 3 to 11 timesgreater than the effect of each of the drugs separately.The CLG combination is safe, because it shows no adverse effects on motoractivity oralterations in neurological parameters nor damage to the liver or kidney.
