The present invention relates to a process for treating keratin fibers comprising the steps of: applying onto the keratin fibers a composition comprising at least one fatty alcohol then placing the keratin fibers in an occlusive space and then heating the keratin fibers, wherein the composition contains neither a reducing agent nor a source of carbonate ions of formula: wherein X is a group selected from the group consisting of O-, OH, NH2, O- OH, and O-COO-. The present invention also relates to the composition itself and a kit to be used for the above process.La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement, de fibres de kératine, qui consiste : à appliquer sur les fibres de kératine une composition comportant au moins un alcool gras puis à placer les fibres de kératine dans un espace hermétiquement fermé puis à chauffer les fibres de kératine, la composition ne contenant ni dagent réducteur, ni de source dions carbonates de la formule : dans laquelle X est un groupe choisi dans le groupe constitué par O-, OH, NH2, O-OH et O-COO-. La présente invention concerne également la composition elle-même et un nécessaire devant être utilisé pour le procédé ci-dessus.
