The present invention provides methods and compositions useful in the regenerationof damaged, lost and/or degenerated tissue in humans and animals. The presentinvention provides an acellular bioabsorbable tissue regeneration matrixproduced by incubating an acellular blood-derived product for a period of timesufficient for the matrix to form. Methods of making such a matrix, and methodsof using such a matrix for the regeneration of damaged, lost and/or degeneratedtissue. In certain embodiments, methods and compositions of the present inventionare useful in the treatment of damaged, lost and/or degenerated nerve tissue.
