PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sustainable atrial fibrillation model that can induce sustainable arterial fibrillation in a small animal and is favorably used for screening of an arterial fibrillation inhibitor and a research for the sustainable atrial fibrillation, and to provide a method for inducing the sustainable atrial fibrillation and method for producing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided the sustainable atrial fibrillation model in which an arteriovenous fistula is created in a rat which is bred for more than 4 weeks and the atrial is hypertrophied, dilated and remodelled. The arteriovenous fistula whose aorta is communicated with inferior vena cava is preferable. In addition, an embodiment wherein the rat is bred for more than 7 weeks and the atrial is hypertrophied, dilated and remodelled is preferable.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】小動物において持続型心房細動を誘発することができ、心房細動抑制剤のスクリーニング、持続性心房細動の研究などに好適に利用できる持続型心房細動モデル、その持続型心房細動誘発方法及び製造方法の提供。【解決手段】ラットに動静脈瘻を作製し、該ラットを4週間以上飼育して心房を肥大拡大、且つリモデリングさせた持続型心房細動モデルである。動静脈瘻が腹部大動脈と下大静脈とが連通した動静脈瘻である態様、7週間以上飼育して心房を肥大拡大、且つリモデリングさせた態様などが好ましい。【選択図】図4
