PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short-process and efficient method for producing a triazole-3-one derivative (1), usefulness of which as an anticancer agent has been shown.SOLUTION: There is provided a novel method for producing a triazole-3-one derivative by treating a triazolyl sulfide derivative (2) of the following formula with one or more equivalents of water relative to the triazolyl sulfide derivative (2) and an excess equivalent of a base, M-W (3), than the equivalents of the water in an aprotic solvent to convert the compound (2) into a triazole-3-one derivative (1) in one step.
