There is a need for a method for grooming a poodle-like pet dog D wherein a combing tool 22 is used for a muzzle portion M of the pet dog D in such a manner to desirably extend and raise hairs H of the muzzle portion M and desirably maintain the profile thereof, thereby providing a lovely finish. Hairs H of sections of the muzzle portion M which are located adjacent to and in front of a line passing through the eyes of the pet dog D are combed upwardly with the combing tool 22 while blowing air with a dryer from the nose side of the pet dog D, so that the hairs are extended, raised, straightened, maintained in a shape, and formed into a three-dimensional shape. The extended and raised hairs H function as a wind barrier for the eyes.
