PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic which has excellent sense of use and contains diisostearyl malate having a high water holding property and an excellent effect of imparting moisture-retaining property.SOLUTION: There is used a diester composition of isostearyl alcohol derived from a by-product in producing a dimer acid and malic acid. The diester composition has excellent sense of use such as smoothness, good compatibility to the skin without sticky feeling and has a high water holding property and an excellent effect of imparting moisture-retaining property. Further, the diester composition is excellent in imparting glossiness, color developability of a dye and solubility of a sparingly soluble component.SELECTED DRAWING: NoneCOPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT【課題】優れた使用感を有するとともに、抱水性が高く保湿性を付与する効果に優れるリンゴ酸ジイソステアリルを含有する化粧料を提供する。【解決手段】ダイマー酸製造時の副生成物から誘導されるイソステアリルアルコールとリンゴ酸とのジエステル組成物を用いる。該ジエステル組成物は、滑らかで、べたつき感がなく、肌へのなじみが良好である等の優れた使用感を有し、かつ、抱水性が高く保湿性を付与する効果に優れる。また、光沢性の付与、染料の発色性、難溶性成分の溶解性にも優れる。【選択図】なし
