The invention relates to a hand-held device for electrically powered skin treatment, whereby current is passed into the skin from an external electric circuit via an electrode (20) so that active ingredients of a cream applied to the skin can better penetrate into the skin. To aid this effect, a cap (9) of the device, which functions as an electrode (20), is provided with a vibrator (15) so that the electrode (20) vibrates on the skin, thus working the cream into the skin.
