PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod having a tip section to improve impact resistance of a tip side.SOLUTION: The tip section 4 of the fishing rod is composed of a resin-impregnated reinforcing fiber, and the resin content at the tip side in the longitudinal direction of the rod is higher than the resin content at the grip side. As an example, the tip section 4 has a solid cross-section comprising an inner region 20 made of the resin and an outer region 30 made of at least the reinforcing fiber and encircling the inner region 20, the outer diameter of the tip section 4 is gradually decreased from the grip side toward the tip side, and the ratio of the outer region 30 to the inner region 20 decreases toward the tip side.
