A dietary supplement composition comprises a combination of saffron and resveratrol. The composition may be used in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), or other age-related diseases. Preferably, the combination is supplemented with one or more further ingredients such as fish oil, Zinc, Copper, vitamin C, vitamin E, lutein and/or zeaxanthin.
