A pump for immersion within a fluid reservoir has a pump body having anelongated fluid conduit having a longitudinal axis, a housing located at abottom end ofthe pump body, the housing having a fluid inlet and at least three tangentialfluid outlets,a combiner for creating a fluid connection between the outlets and the fluidconduit, andan impeller located within the housing having vanes shaped to direct the fluidtangentially within the housing. The fluid reservoir may be, for example, apit or lagooncontaining liquid manure. The pump has large fluid openings and generoustolerancesin order that solid material in the reservoir can be accommodated by the pumpwithoutplugging. The pump may be adapted for connection to a farm vehicle, such as atractor,positioned at the edge of the reservoir.
