A mobile unit for separating manure masses into a wet phase and a dry phase is provided. The mobile unit comprises a separating device (110) configured for receiving manure masses as an input and providing an output by separating the manure masses into a wet phase and a dry phase, an inlet (114) through which the manure masses to be separated enter the mobile unit (100), a liquid outlet (118) through which the wet phase of the manure masses is transported out from the mobile unit (100), a sanitation device (120) configured for sanitizing at least the separating device (110), wherein the sanitation device (120) comprises at least one temperature measuring sensor (126) configured to measure the temperature of at least one of the separating device (110), the inlet (114) and the liquid outlet (118), a housing (102) being provided with at least one wheel (104), wherein the separating device (110) and the sanitation device (120) are arranged inside said housing (102). The mobile unit further comprises a controller (140) configured to receive temperature measurement from the at least one temperature measuring sensor (132), and in response thereto control the temperature of at least one of the separating device (110), the inlet (114) and the liquid outlet (118) so that a desired temperature is obtained for a predetermined period of time.
