An elongated medical device configured to be positioned within a cavity of a body is disclosed. The device has a elongate body member having a proximal end and a distal end, the body member having a light source, an image sensor, and a lens disposed about the distal end of the body, wherein the lens is coupled to the image sensor. A disposable compliant envelope is removably disposed about the exterior of the elongate body member to encompass the elongate body member.
