PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video laryngoscope which facilitates fine control over the manipulation of the laryngoscope in use.SOLUTION: A video laryngoscope 1 includes: an insertion section 4 extending from a body 2 generally parallel to a median plane of the laryngoscope 1 extending through the body 2 and a display screen assembly 8 extending from the body 2 generally perpendicular to the median plane, the body 2 comprising a grip portion 18 intermediate between the display screen assembly 8 and the insertion section 4. The display screen assembly 8 extends laterally from the body 2, and the inner edge of a display screen 10 falls within the lateral extent of the body 2. The grip portion 18 is of a minimum size to allow an adult to grip the laryngoscope 1.
