A shellfish farming system comprising a plurality of anchor points fixed to the sea floor, wherein an anchor line is slideably movable through bell shaped mouths attached to the anchors. A growing line arrangement is attached at connection points along the anchor line, wherein the growing line arrangement is floated upwards by attached buoyancy means. A growing line arrangement comprises growing lines on which the shellfish are cultivated. The anchor lines are free to slide through the bell shaped mouths attached to the anchor points which allows a harvesting boat to pull sections of the growing line to the surface for harvesting. A method of harvesting shellfish from the shellfish farming system is also included.
