X22X+4322The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a resin composition which when employed as an agricultural film exhibits excellent heat retention properties without any reduction in transparency and an agricultural film. The present invention provides a resin composition including 100 parts by weight of a resin and 1 20 parts by weight of a heat retention agent. The heat retention agent is represented by formula (1) namely MgAl(OH)(CO)�mHO (in formula (1) X satisfies 4.0 < X = 6.5 and m represents 0 or a positive number). In the heat retention agent the difference between a molar ratio obtained from 2 in the (110) plane using X ray diffraction and a molar ratio obtained using chemical analysis is not more than 0.7 (with the caveat that the molar ratios are values of Mg/Al).
