PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide genes promoting plant growth, and to provide a method for producing plants promoted in growth as a result of using the genes.
SOLUTION: Among Oryza sativa with the full-length cDNA transformed utilizing FOX Hunting system, strains (AB323 and AG163) where growth promotion is observed are expressed. The identical cDNA(AK067971) has been transduced in each of the AB323 and AG163 strains. AK067971 has ZIM motif, but there is no GATA-type Zinc Finger domain therein, and also has no domain having high homology with CCT motif. By further searching genes having characteristics similar to those of AK067971, a group of genes having characteristics similar to those of AK067971 has been found from Oryza sativa and a plurality of plants. Growth promotion in transformed Oryza sativa obtained using the group of genes has also been confirmed. Thus, AK067971 and its analogous genes can be utilized for plant growth promotion.
