The present invention relates generally to pharmaceutical compositions of vitamin B12 and the treatment of vitamin B12 deficiencies and the various diseases associated with such deficiencies using the same. In certain embodiments, the present invention is directed to a method of treatment comprising sublingual or buccal administration of a vitamin B12 composition useful in performing such treatment.
